 A chronic condition causing eyelid inflammation 👁

 May be on the base of eyelashes, eyelid glands, or both

 Causes: bacterial infection, dermatitis, gland dysfunction, other conditions (e.g. dry eye disease, rosacea) 🦠

What are the Symptoms of Blepharitis ❓

 Burning/itching 🔥

 Redness

 Crusting

 Symptoms worse in the morning 🌞

 Both eyes affected 👀

 Patient symptom assessment

 General examination of the eye area 🔍

How do you Treat Blepharitis ❓

 Consistent good eye hygiene 💦

 Warm compresses

 Gentle eyelid massage (to encourage glands)

 Antibiotic treatments may be needed 🧴

Why should I Worry about Blepharitis ❓

 Its common for patients to be intolerant to contact lenses 👓

 Can cause complications such as cysts, styes & changes to the eyelid/lashes/vision

 May need referral to specialists if severe or complicated 🏥
