What is an ectopic pregnancy❓ 

 A pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus (womb) 🤰

 Commonest location: fallopian tube 

 The pregnancy may end on its own with no problems ❌ 

 It can grow for a while and rupture the tube ⬆ 

What are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy❓ 

 Lower tummy pain (can be severe) 😖

 Missed period 

 Vaginal bleeding (often different to menstrual bleed) 

How do you diagnose ectopic pregnancy❓ 

 Having classical symptoms 

 Urine pregnancy test 

 Ultrasound scan through the vagina 

How do you treat ectopic pregnancy❓ 

 Not ruptured: methotrexate (medicine) 💊

 Ruptured: surgery to remove ectopic and the damaged fallopian tube 

Why should I worry about ectopic pregnancy❓ 

 Ruptured ectopic is life threatening 

 Recurrent ectopic pregnancies 🤰
