What is hepatitis A 

 The inflammation of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus 

 A short-term illness 

 Spread by eating/ drinking contaminated food/ water 🍏


What are the symptoms of hepatitis A 

 Flu-like symptoms: general aches and pains, headache, tiredness 💤

 Feel and/or being sick 🤮

 Diarrhoea 💩

 Ache over the right upper part of the tummy 

 Jaundice (yellow discolouration of the skin/ whites of eyes) 


How do you diagnose hepatitis A 

 Having classical symptoms 

 Examination of the abdomen 

  Blood test 💉


How do you treat hepatitis A 

 It goes away on its own 

 Drink plenty of fluids 💧

 Good personal hygiene to prevent spread 


Why should I worry about hepatitis A 

 Rarely, severe inflammation leads to liver failure
