What is hepatitis B 

 The inflammation of the liver caused by the hepatitis B virus 

 Spread through blood or body fluids (sex, contaminated needles, pregnant mother to her baby) 🤰

 It can be acute (short-term), but can become chronic (long-term) 


What are the symptoms of hepatitis B 

 Flu-like symptoms: general aches pains, tiredness 💤

 Feeling and/or being sick 🤮

 Diarrhoea 💩

 Tummy pain 

 Fever 🌡

 Jaundice (yellow discolouration of the skin/ whites of eyes) 


How do you diagnose hepatitis B 

 Having classical symptoms 

 Examination of the abdomen 

 Blood test 💉


How do you treat acute hepatitis B 

 It goes away on its own 

 Drink plenty of fluids 💧

 Chronic hepatitis B requires long-term monitoring 


Why should I worry about hepatitis B 

 Chronic disease can lead to liver failure
