Fibroid: a non-cancerous (benign) growth in the womb (uterus) 

Fibroids occur more commonly: 

Between puberty and menopause 

In overweight/ obese women 

In Afro-Caribbean women

Tranexamic acid 

Surgery: 

Shrinking the fibroid (myolysis) 

Removal of the fibroid (myomectomy) or uterus (hysterectomy)
